Jeremy Gimbel assumed the position of Youth Director in July 2008. Previously, he has served as head song leader at URJ Camp Newman in Santa Rosa, CA and a song leader for various synagogue functions and NFTY events throughout California. His band, "Shira Tirdof," released their debut album in 2005 ("A Blessing in Disguise…") showcasing their Jewish rock style with distinct Jewish camp influences, and their most recent album, "Let it Happen" has received great reviews!
Jeremy is most proud of his work as editor of the Reform Movement's first Bencher, "Birkon Mikdash M'at: NFTY's Bencher," and his accomplishments while serving as NFTY's Religious and Cultural Vice President.
He grew up at Beth Israel as a madrich and an active member on the BITY board. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in political science and a minor in religious studies. Jeremy formed his Jewish identity as a camper at URJ Camp Newman/Swig and Kutz, through his involvement in NFTY, and growing up in his native San Diego, CA. His sister Becky is also a former BITY leader, and his parents Joanne and Ken are actively involved with CBI. Jeremy is engaged to Sarah Israel and the two will marry in January, 2010.

Rabbi Michael Satz joined CBI as assistant rabbi in July 2009. He was ordained at the Cincinnati campus of Hebrew Union College in 2007 and previously served Congregation M’kor Shalom in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Rabbi Satz has experience engaging young adults to participate in Jewish life. He enjoys working with youth and has taught Confirmation, advised youth groups, and has led a Confirmation trip to Israel.
Rabbi Satz grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans where he majored in Jewish studies and international relations. He plays guitar, including a stint as lead guitarist in his rabbinical school rock band, The Minor Prophets. He is married to Rabbi Janice Elster, previously the Jewish student life coordinator at Hillel at the University of Pennsylvania.
