DOR L' DOR SOCIETY - TO SECURE OUR FUTURE
By Ann Mound, Chair
Endowment Planned Giving Committee
Dear Congregants,
In December you received our beautiful Dor l' Dor Society brochure and accompanying letter. Our deepest thanks to those of you who have written or called to let us know that you have made CBI a part of your estate plan.
As the newest members of our Dor l' Dor Society you are helping to secure the future of our wonderful synagogue; and the Endowment Committee is hopeful that many more congregants will join this year. We ask you to step forward, as others have done, and make a commitment at whatever level is comfortable for you.
We all support the synagogue with our annual dues and other contributions but with busy schedules, perhaps we may not get to temple all that often. When this becomes our pattern we may continue to contribute for today's needs but seldom concern ourselves with funding the future.
Yet the synagogue is truly a place we count on to always be there for us. At the synagogue we get married, celebrate simchas , mourn our loved ones, educate our children, gather to pray, study Jewish history and literature, enjoy special holidays and traditions, perform mitzvot and socialize with new and old friends. Together we share the joys and sorrows of life. We are uplifted or consoled through our Rabbis' words, through our Cantor's music, and through the camaraderie and warmth of our fellow congregants.

We, who have been privileged to build our new congregational home now must also assure that it will always be here for future generations. The government helps non-profit organizations like ours, by allowing estate planning gifts to be financially beneficial for both the donor and the charity. Although the tax implications are important, we know that as involved and committed Jews we give for other reasons, too. We are, as a group, the most caring, concerned and generous people in the world. We give, we serve, we lead and we pass these values on to our children.
Thank you on behalf of all Jews who will come to Congregation Beth Israel in the future, for your Jewish heart, and your serious consideration of this invitation.
Shalom,
Ann Mound, Chair, Endowment Committee
