MAKING IMPORTANT DECISIONS

By Jack Charney

Jack Charney
At Congregation Beth Israel, our Dor l' Dor Society is beginning to grow as congregants make important decisions about estate planning and endowment gifts. These decisions mean a great deal to each member's family, and they also mean a great deal to the future stability of CBI.

Like most experienced estate planning attorneys, I've seen that sometimes the best intentions are never realized. People want to leave a meaningful contribution for the institutions, which have meant so much to them, but they just never get around to it. They talk about doing something; they think about it; but other things take precedence.

Some people say, "Well, the organization never formally asked me to include them in my estate plan, so I figured they didn't need my help."

Please know that CBI is asking, and CBI needs your help.

There are many fine estate planning attorneys and financial professionals who are members of our synagogue. They and/or the members of our Endowment Committee are willing and eager to help you.

I hope you will make the important decision to join our Dor l' Dor Society this year. Make your good intentions happen for the benefit of your heirs and your synagogue. We will honor you today as well as in the future.

L'Shalom,
Jack Charney
