INSCRIBE YOURSELF IN THE BOOK OF LIFE
By Merle Brodie
Last year, my husband, Mitch, and I committed to leave a bequest to CBI. We feel this is the best way we can help assure that CBI continues to be a vital center for Jewish life for our children and theirs for years to come.
This year, we are inscribing our names in the Book of Life at the Third Annual Signing Ceremony on December 7, 2003. Because of our promise to leave an estate gift to the Jewish community, we are eligible to participate in this very special program sponsored by the Jewish Community Foundation. Participating means that we write our own personal statement about why we choose to support CBI.
With over 60 personal statements to date, The Book of Life is truly becoming a reflection of the varied experiences and traditions of the writers. Some people write about family memories and values. Others discuss their dreams, hopes and vision for the future. By signing the Book of Life, Mitch and I are not only leaving a bequest to the Temple, but helping to create a treasured archive of Jewish experience and heritage for future generations in our San Diego community.
If you would like more information and/or would like to see the Book of Life, please call Gail Littman or me at the Jewish Community Foundation at 858-279-2740.
Shalom,
Merle Brodie
