Guest Rabbi Visits 6th Grade
On Thursday, November 15th, we were honored with a visit from Rabbi Sheri Fox who spent the afternoon teaching text to our 6th grade class. They discussed the torah portion about Jacob, Esau, Rebecca and Isaac, and the birthright. Many questions were raised, yet even as questions were answered, there were more questions as a result! The students learned that there are MANY questions to ask about the Torah, so our learning is never done.

4th Grade Thanks Firestorm Helpers
These are some photos of the 4th graders making thank you cards for various people who helped during the firestorm. Some students made cards to thank their parents or families/friends for taking them in or keeping them safe... other students made cards for firefighters or police officers to thank them for doing their jobs to keep San Diego safe. A few students made thank you cards for the workers and volunteers at Qualcomm; some kids made thank you notes for firefighters they actually know. There are a handful of cards for news reporters who were out there reporting the situation. One person made a thank you card for CBI because they took people in. What kind 4th Graders we have!

Religious School Back to School Picnic
Over the weekend of Oct. 19-21, we celebrated the installation of Rabbi Berk, welcoming him into our CBI family and community. At the conclusion of the weekend, we had a Religious School Back-to-school Picnic on our field. Families, students, teachers, and the Clergy enjoyed the sunshine and good conversation.

Pictures from Sukkot
The fall holidays were great fun! Students celebrated in the sukkah waving the lulav, and enjoying snacks and meals.

Pictures from Simchat Torah
The fall holidays were great fun! On Simchat Torah, each class prepared a banner to honor a book of the Torah, and led a parade to celebrate the holiday. Here are a few glimpses of our students celebrating.
