Parent Commitee Is Active on Sunday Mornings

The Religious School Parent Committee meets regularly during the school year to discuss issues and programs to enhance the religious school experience for our children. The Committee also looks for ways to connect our families with each other, our school and our Synagogue.

Some of last school year's topics included:
  • Policies: The development of guidelines and policies to facilitate the administration of our religious school, including the publishing the Religious School Handbook.

  • Communication: Improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and frequency of communications between our school and parents.

  • Curriculum: In conjunction with religious school leadership, reviewing our school curriculum and expectations for teachers with the goal of making the religious school experience as rewarding and meaningful as possible.

  • Room Parents: The need for at least two room parents for each grade to help support our classroom teachers. The responsibilities of the room parents, including organizing class activities, helping with special classroom events and planning one grade-related Shabbat dinner each year.

  • Community Building: Planning socializing and festive religious holiday activities that help develop class spirit and bring families together.

  • Family Education: Using our religious school as a catalyst for developing family learning opportunities, such as study of Torah, holidays, rituals, customs, and life cycle events.
Please contact Marvin Estrin, Chair, Religious School Parent Committee, if you have questions.
