Camp Beth Israel was Fun!
Summer 2006 at Camp Beth Israel was full of fun, friends and adventure!
Campers two years old through Kindergarten explored a travel theme through cultural, art, music, science, cooking
and sports activities. Campers "traveled" to exciting
destinations, making each a better place through tikkun olam (repairing
the world). Camp Beth Israel is staffed by Bill & Sid Rubin Preschool teachers, with assistance from Senior and Junior Counselors and
CITs.
Session Memories
Session One: June 26 – July 7
Campers traveled
across the U.S and rode ponies, made apple pie, panned for gold and enjoyed
all sorts of American traditions.
Take a look at our newsletters from camp:

Week 2 - July 3-7 (PDF 123K)
Session Two: July 10 – July 21
During Session Two of Summer Camp campers explored the art, language, music and culture of Mexico and France. Hands-on fun included special visitors from Birch Aquarium -- sea stars, hermit crabs, sea snails and anemones -- and loved the mess of "Ooeey Gooey Color Day."

Week 2 - July 17-21 (PDF 140K)
Session Three: July 24 – August 4
Our travels continued with a trip on an African Safari. We petted some
exotic animals, and drumed to the beat of African music. Our summer ended
in Israel. We trained for the Maccabi Games (Jewish Olympics), spoke
Hebrew, cooked falafel and traveled back to the United States.
Upon arriving at camp, each camper received a passport and a stamp to our
weekly destination. Each week we traveled to a new country and explored its
culture through, art, music, science, cooking and sports. Through Tikkum Olam,(repairing
the world), we helped make each country we visited a better place. In addition
to these enjoyable activities, staff and campers celebrated Shabbat together
with music, song and dance. View the Session Three newsletters:
