Share Your Seder
In keeping with the spirit of Passover we encourage you to consider opening your home to a fellow CBI member or family who does not have a Seder to attend this holiday. Additionally, if you are in need of a place to go, please let us know as we will try and pair you with a host family. Please contact at 858 535-1111 for more information or to sign up.

Breast Cancer and Jewish Women Breakfast
Sunday, February 21 from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.
Epstein Conference Room

Jewish women of Ashkenazi descent are ten times more likely to carry the BRCA (breast cancer) gene mutations than the rest of the population - this means Jewish women have a much greater likelihoood to develop breast cancer. Please join other women by learning more about the risks at our complimentary breakfast & talk with speaker Dr. Neysa Whiteman with an introduction by Rabbi Aliza Berk. This is a free workshop and we encourage you to invite a friend.

Please RSVP at www.cbisd.org/rsvp or by calling Lianne Beyer at 858 535-1111, ext. 3113.

Saluting Your Acts of Loving Kindness
We celebrate the efforts of our dedicated Kehillah Callers who have contacted hundreds of our members at the High Holy Days and Pesach. We thank each and every one of you who reached out to others in our congregation, taking the time to get to know and include them in congregational life. You have worked on projects, planning, organizing, sharing holidays, making referrals, solving problems and extending friendship. Your efforts have resulted in additional help for many of our members. We extend our gratitude and say "yasher koach."

Can You Provide a Ride to High Holy Day or other Worship Services for Those in Need?
Volunteers will be matched for mutual convenience of location and schedule. Volunteering for this mitzvah does not have to be a long-term commitment. If you can drive for a month, a day, or once in a while, your services are appreciated. Contact at 858 535-1111.

About the Caring Community
Compassion, the ability to care for and love one another is an important Jewish virtue. It compels us to direct our personal resources to support one another, and wehen we support one another, we create a caring, loving and holy community.

At Congregation Beth Israel we have a long history of compassion. We have a tradition of volunteering to visit our homebound members and sending welcome home care packages to new babies. we have called our elderly members to wish them a "Happy Passover" and to see how they're doing. We've offered rides to our disabled congregants so they could attend a service or program. We've always recognized that one act can go a long way in enriching the life of another.

We insure that no CBI member is alone in a time of need. To do this we need to know who is in need and who can volunteer. We hope you will be in touch with us. Remember that every small mitzvah is appreciated.
