 Please join us on August 26, as our Torah Scribe Julie Seltzer, completes our Torah. Julie will share her personal reflections on the writing of Beth Israel’s Torah and will guide us through the ritual of completing the Torah, including sewing it to the rollers and wrapping it in a tallit.
PROGRAM
1:00 The remaining fill-In ceremonies will take place
1:20 Julie will share her personal reflections on the creation our Torah and the mitzvah of completing the Torah. Her talk will be followed by a Q&A
2:00 The Torah will be completed by sewing the rollers onto the ending panel, rolling the Torah up and viewing several panels, with commentary offered by Julie Seltzer. Then the Bereshit panel will be sewn onto the beginning roller, the Torah will be closed, tied with a satin ribbon and wrapped in a tallit.
2:45 We will celebrate the completion of our Torah.
