What is the Torah Project?
In honor of our 150th anniversary we are creating a new Torah scroll for our synagogue with the help of Torah scribe Julie Seltzer, who is only the second woman in the world to scribe an entire Torah.
  • Young and old may participate in Beth Israel’s 150th Anniversary Torah Project.
  • A variety of dedication opportunities are available ranging from a single letter to dedicating the entire Torah.
  • Your gift can also honor or remember a family member or friend, or commemorate a special simcha.
  • A commemorative photograph and a parchment certificate will acknowledge your dedication.

The Torah Project is Beth Israel’s annual fund during this 150th anniversary year. All expenses for the Torah Project have been underwritten, so all proceeds raised from the Torah Project will go directly to fund Beth Israel’s programs and services. Beth Israel expresses its deepest appreciation to Karen and Jeff Silberman, Lisa Foster and Alan Bersin and Marcia Hazan for generously underwriting the Torah Project. This underwriting gift was made in honor and memory of Stanley* and Pauline Foster, Richard Silberman, Roberta Stuart*, and Arthur* and Mildred* Bersin. * l z (of blessed memory)
