rabbi-bill-berk.jpgAll are invited to attend an Erev Shabbat service honoring Beth Israel's Caring Community. The service will feature special guest speaker Rabbi William Berk who will speak on the topic: The Giving Heart.  Rabbi Bill Berk, brother of Senior Rabbi Michael Berk, served for twenty-three years as the senior rabbi of Temple Chai in Phoenix, Arizona, during which time the temple grew from 80 families to 1,120 families. Rabbi Berk did pioneering work in the area of recovering prayer and Kabbalat Shabbat, adult learning, assisting Jews with special needs, developing the caring/healing congregation, and using retreats to strengthen community. In 2003 he won the Covenant Award which is given to three top Jewish educators in North America. Rabbi Bill Berk made aliyah in 2006 and now lives in Jerusalem.

After the service, you are invited to join us for a dinner honoring our Caring Community committee and volunteers. Rabbi Bill Berk will share Personal Stories from the Front Lines of Caring Community. No need to RSVP for the service, but please RSVP and pay online below by March 1 for the dinner
