Writing a Family Haggadah Download as iCal file

09:00am on Sunday, March 10, 2013

Two sessions: Sundays February 10 and March 3, 9:00-11:30 a.m.
with Joe Oppenheimer

HaggadahWith a computer and internet access, you can easily create your own family haggadah. In the first part of this two-part workshop, we’ll discuss the purpose of having a “personal” haggadah and what it can do for ourselves and/or our family.  We’ll consider possible themes or objectives and view a sampling of haggadot created by other families over the years. Finally, Joe will provide specific web sites and guide us to an abundance of resources and material available online. Bring your laptop, netbook, iPad or similar device if you have one; free internet access is available.

In the three weeks between sessions, you will write and compile a draft of your personal haggadah. In the second session, the class and instructor will review participants’ work, discuss problems, answer questions, and make suggestions for revisions or additions. There will be ample time to complete your own family haggadah for use at the first Seder March 25.

No fee, but please register online at least one week in advance. For more information contact Program Director Bonnie Graff / 858 535-1111, ext. 3800.
