Meet Kim Blough CBI's Facilities Coordinator
Kim Blough joined CBI's staff as our Facilities Coordinator in 2010. Kim grew up in Redlands, California and came to San Diego to study at SDSU, graduating with a degree in Geography in 2003. During this time she also interned in field biology, became a licensed massage therapist and spent a summer backpacking in South America.
After graduation, she settled into family life with husband Jeremy, and daughters, Camille and Estelle, taking on jobs designing and baking wedding cakes, doing contract writing and billing, and serving as event coordinator for Harbor Presbyterian Church. Kim enjoys the fast pace, always-changing nature of her job at CBI.
In addition to coordinating CBI's many events, Kim oversees CBI's facility rental program, providing planning and support for the many simchas held at our facility. CBI Food Guidelines All public and private events are required to abide by these policies. Congregation Beth Israel reserves the right to review and approve menus, including brands and ingredients, in advance, to assure compliance with these guidelines. • Pork, shellfish, and any products containing lard are prohibited on the premises. • When families or individuals bring their own outside food to CBI (e.g. for family-style, potluck or shared meals), they may not bring pork, shellfish or products containing lard. • This prohibition applies to all CBI sponsored events, including those held away from the synagogue. • CBI does not require the separation of dairy and meat items, but caterers and individuals preparing or serving meals at CBI should be sensitive to this component of Jewish dietary observance and may want to follow a guideline of not preparing or serving a menu containing both milk and meat served together. • During Pesach (Passover), the following additional rules apply: - Bread, crackers, & non-Pesach cookies or cakes are prohibited - Products containing grain or flour are only permitted if labeled “Kosher for Pesach,” or “Kosher for Passover.” - Prior to the start of the holiday, all non-Pesach approved foods usually found on the synagogue premises will be removed from public spaces including, work areas, and kitchens.
