Jerry Sampson
Jerry Sampson and his wife Lynn have been active members of CBI since 1988, where they were married. Together they are raising two children, Rachel, a member of the 2005 Confirmation Class, and Jacob, a recent Bar Mitzvah.
Jerry has served on the T'filah/Worship Committee and the Aleinu Committee. As a volunteer, he also enjoys welcoming and greeting visitors and members to numerous Congregation events and activities.
For more than 20 years, Jerry has been a procurement, contracts, and materials
management professional for a San Diego firm. He is a graduate of Arizona State
University with a major in Business Administration and Production Operations
Management. Jerry was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Skokie, Illinois.
Terri Sapp
Terri Sapp has been an active member of CBI for 22 years. She was a member of the Adult B’nai Mitzvah class of 1992, and served as a member of the Board of Directors from 1994-96. She has chaired or been a committee member of many of the CBI annual fundraisers during the past 15 years, including Rhinestone Roundup, Steamboatin’ Style, and We’re off To The Races. Terri was named CBI Volunteer of the Year in 1995-96.
Terri has two children, Jennifer and Jordan, both of whom are graduates
of Tufts University in Medford, Mass. Jordan is currently a Mechanical
Engineering graduate student at UCSD. Jennifer is enjoying a modeling career
and will be attending law school in the fall of 2005. Jennifer and Jordan attended
religious school at CBI, were B’nai Mitzvah and confirmed.
Terri was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to the San Fernando Valley when
she was 12. She is a graduate of Taft High School and attended UCLA where she
studied Art. She is an Interior Designer and currently working in Public Relations,
Marketing, and Accounting for a dental office. Terri has also been an active
volunteer for UJF, Frances Parker School, the Hebrew Home and UCSD Cancer Center.
She enjoys living downtown with her two cats, Gotcha and Baby.
Marge Schane
Marge Schane has been an active member of CBI since 1968. She has served on the Membership Committee, Kelliah Caring Committee and the Board of Women of Beth Israel. She is currently the Co-President of Women of Beth Israel.
In the community Marge has served on the Jewish Healing Center committee and is an active committee member for Project SARAH (Stop Abusive Relationships at Home), where she has helped in fundraising for several events. In addition, she is a member of Planned Parenthood.
Marge and her husband, Sanford, are originally from Detroit. They came to San Diego in 1965 and have been married for 47 years. They have two married daughters, Sheryl and Debra, and two grandchildren, all of whom live in San Diego. Sheryl and Debra celebrated their B'not Mitvah, confirmations, and marriages at CBI.
After graduating from law school, Marge became a probation officer for the County of San Diego where she worked for over 13 years. She currently works in the travel industry as a cruise specialist with Cruises Inc. She serves not only our community but the entire United States and Canada.

Molly Schneider
Molly Schneider is a transplanted Detroiter who came to San Diego to attend UCSD in 1986 and stayed for the sunshine. She’s been active in the Jewish community since moving here, first serving as campus liaison for AIPAC and then chairing the young leadership division of AIPAC for 2 years.
She’s been involved in the Bill and Sid Rubin preschool since her children began attending in 2001. She is on the Stand with Israel Committee at CBI, and was recently selected to join the Women’s Division Board for UJF.
Molly has been self employed in the baby clothes business for many years and
currently manages a Web site business, babymonograms.com.
Molly, and husband Jon, live in Carmel Valley with their three children.

Judi Schwartz
Judi Schwartz, and her husband Bob, have been members
of Congregation Beth Israel for 23 years. She has been involved in many committees
over the course of that time including Mixed Doubles, the Para-rabbinic program,
the Parent Advisory Committee for the Day School, the Festivals Committee, Interfaith
Outreach and the T'filah/Worship Committee. Judy also recently completed
four years as co-president of Women of Beth Israel. She became a Bat Mitzvah
in the previous Adult B'nai Mitzvah program, an accomplishment that was quite
meaningful in her spiritual growth.
Judi owns Promotions Unlimited, selling advertising specialties, real estate
related publications, and is involved with Web site promotions. Judi grew up
in Texas but has lived in San Diego for 30 years.

Elaine
R. Simon
Elaine Simon has been a member of Congregation Beth Israel for 19 years. Elaine
is active in CBI as member of the Women of Beth Israel In addition from 1999-2002
she served on the religious school parent advisory committee.
Professionally, Elaine is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes
Educator. She has 20 years of experience in diabetes management and education.
Elaine has developed educational programs, support groups and clinics for individuals
with diabetes. Elaine is an active member of the American Association of Diabetes
Educators, and the current president of the San Diego Association of Diabetes
Educators. She speaks to professionals nationwide regarding the latest methods
of diabetes treatment and diabetes prevention. Elaine received her Masters of
Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University
of San Diego.
Elaine lives in Scripps Ranch with her sons Daniel 20, and Jeffrey 16. Daniel
attended Beth Israel Day school and was confirmed at CBI in 2002. Jeffrey attended
Preschool at CBI and became Bar
Mitzvah in 2003.

Ronald
I. Simon, Ph.D.
Ron and his family have been members of Congregation Beth Israel for over
30 years. He is treasurer of the congregation. Ron has served on CBI's Finance,
Investment and Endowment committees since 2002, and serves on the Board of Directors
and on the Executive Committee. He was honored
as a Volunteer of the Year in 2005.
Ron was born in Cairo, Egypt, and came to the United States in 1942. He graduated
from Harvard University with a major in economics, earned an M.A. in History from
Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Business from the Columbia University Graduate
School of Business.
Ron has worked in various financial and corporate positions
throughout his business career. Currently, he is a director of American Independence
Corp., Cardium Therapeutics and two private companies. Ron is a member of the
board and treasurer of San Diego Country Club, and chairman of its budget and
finance committee. He is also on the audit committee of the San Diego Zoo.

Cynthia Wexler
Cynthia Wexler served on the Rabbinic Search Committee that selected Rabbi Michael Berk. She has served on the ALEINU: Adult Learners Committee and the Kehillah Caring Community Committee and is presently serving as co-chair of Yasher Koach. For five years she was a board member of the Agency for Jewish Education. Cynthia and her husband, Sydney, are active Minyan participants and are very much involved with the Shabbat Chavurah.
Cynthia is a former president of her previous congregation in Santa Rosa, California. During her presidency, Cynthia oversaw both the growth of Congregation Beth Ami to 350 from 100 families and a building-fund drive that enabled the temple to build a school extension of six new classrooms. She also co-chaired a United Jewish Federation fund drive in Sonoma County.
Cynthia and her husband, Sydney, moved to San Diego in 1993. Cynthia grew up in Chicago, Ill and earned her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. While Sydney was practicing law, she worked as his office manager. They moved to California in 1979 when Sydney retired and, in 1993, moved to San Diego.
